SCHOOL THEME FOR 2014-2015 … “OUT OF THIS WORLD”
COOKIE TRAYS
     Would you like a variety of Holiday Cookies for upcoming holiday
     parties or to start the holiday season off by having them with your
     Thanksgiving Dinner?  At the "Winter Fun Festival" on Saturday,
     November 22nd, COOKIE TRAYS will be available for purchase.

     If you would be interested in baking 6 dozen of the same type of cookie
     and donating them to be included in the COOKIE TRAYS, we would be
     thrilled!!  Cookies may be brought to Brooke during the day on Friday,
     November 21st, or that evening by 6:00 PM.  Please complete the
     attached form so that the volunteers will know to expect your cookies.
     Thanks in advance for baking!!

WINTER FUN FESTIVAL
     On Saturday, November 22nd, from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM,
     Brooke Elementary will be holding their annual WINTER FUN
     FESTIVAL!!  This is a great time for the children to buy holiday
     presents for their family members at Santa's Secret Shop and
     for parents to shop from the 25+ crafters who will be set up in the
     Gym.  There will also be Arts and Crafts for the children and Story
     Time
in the Library, as well as Pictures with Santa.  Think about
     purchasing Cookie Trays (with an assortment of holiday cookies)
     for your holiday entertaining. There is something for the entire family
     at this event!!
AMERICAN EDUCATION WEEK VISITATION
     Parents, grandparents, other relatives, and friends are invited
     to visit Brooke Elementary during AMERICAN EDUCATION WEEK.
     The dates and times for visitations are ...

     Tuesday, November 18th:   Grade 2 - 9:30 to 11:00
                                                       Grade 3 - 1:30 to 3:00
     Wednesday, November 19th:   AM Kdg. - 9:30 to 11:00
                                                            PM Kdg. - 1:30 to 3:00
     Thursday, November 20th:   Grade 1 - 9:30 to 11:00
                                                        Grade 4 - 10:30 to 12:00

PIZZA KNIGHT at the BOOK FAIR
     PIZZA KNIGHT at the BOOK FAIR is scheduled for
     Monday, November 17th.  The seatings will be 5:30 PM,
     6:15 PM, and 7:00 PM.  This is an enjoyable family
     evening to eat dinner at Brooke and visit the BOOK FAIR.

FALL BOOK FAIR
    The Fall BOOK FAIR will be held from Monday, November 17th,
     to Friday, November 21st. This year's theme is Sir Readalot's
     Castle - Enter the Kingdom of Books! Please click here for
     additional information.

     The online Book Fair will be open from November 12th until December 1st.
     All sales will benefit the school and be delivered about one week after the

REPORTING YOUR CHILD'S ABSENCE
     If your child will be absent from school, by 8:45 AM please
     call Brooke Elementary's "ABSENTEE PHONE LINE".  Dial
     610-705-6006 and select option "4".  Please leave your child's
     name, your child's teacher' name, and the reason your child is
     absent.  This must be done each day that your child will not be
     in school.
VOLUNTEER GUIDELINES
     The district has revised the VOLUNTEER POLICY, and as a result,
     there are additional steps necessary before coming to Brooke as a
     volunteer during any school day.  Please click here to access the
     revised policy.

     There are two categories of volunteers -- Limited Contact Volunteer
     who is in close proximity to a school district employee when with a
     student ... and Substantial Contact Volunteer who will be with a
     student without direct supervision by a school district employee.
     Clearances and costs will be incurred by the Substantial Contact
     Volunteers.
